Moms, dads, friends and family members,
We have safely arrived!!!! Team Peru Two Live Crew is all moved in to our home for the next three months. We are living in Nauta, a jungly town in the Amazon. The guys are living in a children’s camp, complete with bunk beds, showers, toilets and lots and lots of niños. The girls are living with an Ohio-native named Chris (short for Christina). We have amazing accommodations and a wonderful host. It’s basically a tree house. Our view from the back porch is lush trees, vines and a pond.
We know this can be a very hard time for you. For some of you this is the first time you have told your child/friend/family member goodbye and watched them leave the comforts of home. For three months nonetheless. Asjia, Brianna, Cane, Cody, Elyse, Mac and Thommy are incredible. We know this time can be challenging for you, but we (jeff and I) want to introduce ourselves and let you know our hopes for this trip.
We have only known them a week but we LOVE them wholeheartedly. We want the best for them and are humbled and honored that God has chosen us to lead them during this mission. Rest assured that they are precisely where they need to be. The safest place in the world is in the will of God.
Now to introduce ourselves, so you have an idea of who we are:
Jeff- 24 years old from Edmonton, Alberta Canada. Last year I went on the World Race with 2nd generation Z squad. Prior to leaving for the Race, I was working for my local municipal police service along with taking time to travel. I enjoy traveling, adventures and anything active. I am passionate about meeting people where they are at and loving them through the highs and lows of life.
Stacie- 27 years old. Born and raised in South Carolina. Last year I went on the World Race, with 3rd generation, C-Squad. I returned home at the end of November. Prior to the WR I lived in New York City with my very best friend, Mollie, in Brooklyn. I worked as a professional dancer with an amazing company, whom I still greatly admire. My church home is BrooklynTabernacle (yall should listen to the choir on ITunes). I love stars, coffee, food, travel, adventures, books, writing, dancing and laughing. I am passionate about loving others with my whole heart, living the gospel and declaring to the nations that we have a Father who loves us and a Savior whose grace is sufficient for every need, pain, struggle or broken heart.
Our ministry will be varied but will include working most days in an orphanage, where we will attend devotionals, play, clean, cook and do daily chores with the children and staff. We will also visit and work with a local church, helping them in services and providing help for manual labor projects. We will also do door to door evangelism and lead a two week VBS for children in our neighborhood. Other various ministries include working with a soccer team at the orphanage and leading a dance ministry.
We appreciate your prayers and are so excited to discover all that God has in store for us over the next three months here in Nauta.
